Tough Country Cutting Boards are not only more durable than most but they are also a beautiful addition to your kitchen counter or table. Each is unique and individually crafted. We use a variety of hardwoods that include: Walnut, Maple, Oak, Pecan, Mesquite, Padauk, Purpleheart, Teak, and many more. Specific woods can be used upon request for a customized board, as well as length, width and thickness.
Two types of Cutting Boards are offered; End Grain and Flat Grain. End Grain Boards have a much harder and more durable surface than regular cutting boards. They also resist knife marks and help keep them sharper. The blade goes between the end grain fibers like cutting into a firm paint brush which preserves the blade and allows the fibers to move back into place after cutting. The Flat Grain Boards are significantly easier to manufacture and are therefore less expensive. The majority of the wooden cutting boards you see in stores are flat grain boards. We still add the Tough Country unique touch by hand selecting quality hardwoods.
